Female Characterization Gears of War 2

Now at this point the correct answer from my perspective would have been "actually there's a kick ass female marine this time around", but no, of course not. For female gamers like me that loved Gears of War and were really hoping for a female character in GoW2 we get this 'there would be a love interest this time around.'
YAWN!!!!!!! Romantic interest, how totally and utterly lame!!!!!! This really yanks my chain, what a total and utter cop out. Where's my Vasquez like character?!! (yes it's an Aliens movie reference).

(for those lost Tsunoda is Microsoft's General Manager for Gears of War 2).

I still think there will be a female character, the offical forum are flooded with people asking for one. they could just ignore that many fans. I think they are just keeping it quite.
and who knows, maybe Maria (Doms girlfriend) will don a COG suit and a lancer

yeah no one told the writer about all those female King Raven ploits and Tank crews
Or that Jacinto has weapons planets
or that weapon developments does not equal war crimes
