Importing Rock Band to Australia...
May 26th 2008 22:40
... was a simple case of ordering it online from a UK games store, getting it shipped to family who were due to visit and get them to bring it via excess luggage. All's well with the plan until they arrive in Sydney and Rock Band is nowhere to be seen. Filling in lost baggage forms is no fun when you know you spent 190 UKP or around $400 Aussie dollars on something and the airline will give you back $20 for lost baggage.
Luckily there's a good ending to this story, the airport found the box and it will be delivered to my door today... whew. Amusingly whilst we were in the airport waiting at the baggage belt for the box to arrive, a guy standing near us picked his Rock Band drum kit off the conveyor. Seems like we weren't the only people to realize bringing it in from the UK personally might be your best bet.
I'll have a GeekGrrl first look at Rock Band for you tomorrow.
