Killzone 2 quick review for PS3
February 11th 2009 02:46
So Killzone 2 arrived with me last week and I have to say I was a bit "Meh" when it dropped through the door. I rarely play FPS on the PS3 as I always opt to get them on the 360, but I had my duty to Sony so popped that sucker in.
Wow! Holy cow, finally a game on the PS3 that actually looks like it might be using more than half its graphics power, it's astonishing, beautiful. Lighting, textures, modeling, environments, AI... all pretty darn good.
I have to say I'm impressed with Killzone 2. Whilst it isn't without its problems - the lack of co-op a travesty - it is so darn playable. As with the graphics, sound too is right on the money. Sure it's linear, but it's an FPS title, so whilst retaining some genre bindings, it throws preconceived notions of "just another over hyped sequel" to the dusty winds of Helghan and spits out a mostly superlative gaming experience.
When it's released later this month.. purchase that sucker and enjoy.
